Muse : Elizabeth Spencer, General Hospital Session Start (babys breath liz:stoic jason): Tue Aug 14 22:26:10 2007 [22:26] stoic jason: The penthouse seemed oddly quiet, not that it was normally a scenery of noise and loud activity, but there was an eerie depiction to it, much like the still of the dawn breaking. It was all a matter of getting things situated again and now with Sam gone and Spinelli off doing... whatever it was that Spinelli did throughout his days- Jason could focus on work again. Focus on being there for his friends, the little family he did have which included his impending visitors. Knowing he was to see them soon gave him a sense of contentment, something that had been rare in his life the past few weeks. Blowing out a slow breath, he hung up the phone as the call ended though his head snapped up at the sound of a knock. Walking to the door, he pulled it open and gave a short nod at Elizabeth, "Hey. C'mon in." [22:33] babys breath liz: Elizabeth felt awful, but this was for the best, she truly believed it. Now that the guilt was lifted, she could breathe again but she wasn't doing so well. She knew she'd really hurt Lucky, and a lot of other people. She herself was hurting, but it had to be done. You could only lie so much before it consumed you. And Liz had reached her limit. And now, Jason could claim his son if he wanted to, and the truth was very freeing. Things were going to be hard for a long time, but she knew eventually they had to get better. She went to see Jason at the penthouse with Jake and Cameron in tow. She found it so hard to let them out of her sight since Jake had been rescused. "Hey..." she said quietly, she was a mess but who wouldn't be in this situation. [22:39] stoic jason: As much as it did pain him not to claim his son, he knew that Elizabeth had to be happy about any decision she made. He wouldn't force her into a situation she wasn't comfortable with and as much as he'd do anything he could for her, he would also sit back and wait patiently until it was his time. She had tried to make the family work with Lucky, believing they were better off with him because of Jason's line of work and how dangerous it could be. But protecting them was at the forefront of his mind. Stepping aside to allow them in, he gave a light smile to Cameron as he walked ahead of his mother, closing and locking the door behind them. "Can I... can I get you anything?" [22:57] babys breath liz: A time machine maybe? No, Elizabeth accepted the decision that she' d made when she told everyone that Jake was Jason's son. "No.." She said softly, her voice was breaking. She'd cried of course, but then she tried to pull herself together for the kids. She'd done the right thing, hadn't she? Now the truth was finally out, and things would work out. They had to. She just really needed to calm down, and that was why she'd come here. Jason was like a sanctuary to her. And now they shared a child, and now everyone knew. She didn't want to go back to her house, she knew Lucky was divorcing her. She didn't blame him. She felt like such a horrible person right now, but she was trying to be strong. [23:17] stoic jason: He knew it was a hard decision for her to make, simply because it meant being honest with herself after such a long time and breaking Lucky's heart, even giving the possibility of sending him spiraling. But Jason just cared for her safety and the safety of the children. He wanted her to be okay, for the kids to be happy and healthy. She had become a beacon of light in otherwise dark times. He nodded slightly, watching her. Bending down, he ruffled Cameron's hair, "Why don't you go play with your truck, huh? We'll watch." Standing to his full height again, he faced Elizabeth, "I'm here. For whatever you and the kids need. You know that." [23:25] babys breath liz: "I know, thank you." Elizabeth tried to smile at him, she was gently rocking Jake. He'd just fallen asleep. She didn't know where to go from here. She couldn't go home and fight with Lucky. Lucky probably wouldn't even be there. She still couldn't believe she'd finally done it. "I saw the note from Carly. I'm sorry..." She was going to be saying that a lot, she knew. She continued to rock Jake as she studied Jason's expression. "Is there somewhere I can lay him down?" [23:39] stoic jason: He waved off her apology. Carly was on her own planet and only seemed to come down whenever she felt like pestering Jason about his life which ultimately meant she'd go on about hers. He loved her, he did, she was a good friend but they weren't going to see eye to eye on this. Rubbing the back of his neck, he glanced around, "Uh, well. You could put him upstairs if you like, there's a playpen in one of the spare bedrooms. He should be okay there." [23:43] babys breath liz: Elizabeth really would have preferred him closer, especially with all that had gone on, but they were at Jason's, he would keep them safe. She nodded, moving Jake to her other shoulder, and setting the diaper bag on the floor. "Do you want to take him?" Jake was his son, after all. And now Jason could actually spend some time with him even if he wanted nothing to do with Liz, which so far was unlikely. "What...do you think will happen now?" [00:26] stoic jason: Looking down to the sleeping infant, he nodded and gently took him into his arms. Holding Jake put everything into perspective now. He was free to claim his son, free to hold him whenever he wished and they no longer had to hide behind closed doors for a quiet family moment. Rocking him gently, he bent his head down to kiss his forehead lightly as he slept. "I'm, I'm not sure." He blew out a short breath as he thought it over, speaking quietly, "I'm sure things will get hectic. But, you're always welcomed here. You and the kids, you have a place here Elizabeth... My offer still stands." [00:37] babys breath liz: Elizabeth sighed a little, thinking about how to deal with things from here on in. The truth could be freeing, but it was also hard to deal with the after math. She glanced over at Cam for a minute who was playing with his truck. He loved Lucky so much, and she felt horrible for doing this to him too. She wanted to cry again, but she had to be strong. It was not just her life that she'd turned upside down with her confession. "Thank you Jason, for everything." She told him with a sad smile. [00:46] stoic jason: Holding Jake comfortably, the infant slept soundly in his arms as they spoke. It was a hard thing to process and to move on with, that much he could see and he was patient with Elizabeth. He knew whatever decision she made, she had to be happy with it. Watching her, he nodded solemnly, seeing how much this was tearing her up. She just wanted to do right by her children. Taking quiet steps to close the small distance between them, his free arm curled around her to bring her into his chest for a hug, whispering, "Everything will work out." [00:55] babys breath liz: Elizabeth let Jason hug her. She needed all of the support she could get right now. She didn't think she deserved it, but she definitely needed it. "Do you want to bring him upstairs?" She asked, that way they could go up there and talk without Cam overhearing. Times were going to be hard enough for him now. [01:01] stoic jason: Running his hand along her back lightly, he held them both close as they stood silent for a couple moments. He knew she was experiencing some inner turmoil that he couldn't fix for her, which upset him the most. He just wanted her to be okay. Nodding, he glanced over at Cameron and spoke softly, "Cam, we're going to be just upstairs, okay?" Letting her walk up first, he followed with the baby and led her to the pink room that was currently occupied by Spinelli. Setting Jake down in the playpen gently, he made sure he was still asleep before standing straight again. [01:08] babys breath liz: It would be a long time before she was okay. She knew what she had done would cause a lot of pain, but she'd been hurting too, for so long. She'd slept with Jason, but Lucky had slept with Maxie and Sam with Ric...it had been a rollercoaster for all of them, and now it was hopefully at an end. Once they were upstairs and Elizabeth was sure that Jake was okay, she started to cry. She'd been holding it in till now. [01:13] stoic jason: Everyone was still reeling from everything they'd been through. Long-harbored secrets were just now being revealed, relationships were coming to an abrupt end all over the place and they were all just trying to pick up the pieces. His main concern though were Elizabeth and the children. They did hold a tender spot in his heart. Watching her, he saw the tears begin to fall and without missing a beat, his arms enveloped her tiny frame, holding her close. [01:31] babys breath liz: Elizabeth sobbed helplessly in the comfort of Jason's arms. He was so strong, so wonderful. She did not deserve him. He deserved his son, but Liz did nto deserve him at all. She was a tramp and a liar and now everyone knew. She'd never be able to face Lucky again. Pulling herself together a bit, she took a step back from Jason, but not too far, just enough so that she could see his face. "Do...you think that I should take the boys away for awhile?" She felt so lost and helpless. [01:37] stoic jason: Of course, Jason couldn't ever think of her in a bad light. He knew she did what she had for her children, for the sake of Cam and Jake, and for the sake of Lucky not relapsing. She had looked out for everyone but herself and now she was dealing with the aftermath. It pained him to watch her be so miserable. His head lifted as she took a step back and his gaze focused upon her face, her blue eyes that carried such sadness. Glancing down to Jake, he was quiet for a moment before speaking slowly, "I... think that you should do whatever you want. If you need some time away, I understand." [01:43] babys breath liz: "I just don't know." Liz cried, her eyes swollen and red from crying. "I cut the tie, but I don't know what comes next.. I don't want to go home...because it will feel so empty." She took in a breath and looked up at Jason. There was so much she wanted to say to him. So much she could say now, but she couldn't find the words. "I unleashed so much hell..." [01:58] stoic jason: He was quiet as she spoke, it wasn't something he could easily advise her on. Truth be told, he'd like for her to stay, where he could keep an eye on her and the kids and where he knew they were safe. Looking to her, his fingers reached out to brush away a few stray locks of her hair, whispering, "No you didn't. You did what you had to because you couldn't take anymore. It was unhealthy." The pad of his thumb brushed across her cheek lightly as he wiped her tears. [02:04] babys breath liz: "but what about the lives I just destoryed?" She sobbed. "What if Lucky turns back to drugs and it's my fault..." She shook her head. "But it wasn;t fair, jake is your son, and you should be able to claim him, and I..." She was crying harder now, her little body starting to shake. She was so upset she thought that she might faint at any moment. How could she do all of this? She felt so horrible it made her want to be sick, and yet, looking at Jason she knew she'd made the right choice. [02:21] stoic jason: "Lucky is a grown man, Elizabeth. He has the ability to refrain from drugs. It's not your fault if he relapses, he has to make that decision himself." He knew no matter what he'd said, she would blame herself if Lucky did relapse. Elizabeth carried so much guilt, he just wanted her to be alright. Swallowing a lump as he watched her sob, he sighed and tugged gently on her wrist to bring her back into his arms, holding her tightly as she cried. "I wish I knew what to tell you, but you have to decide for yourself. I'm here for you though, I'm never going to let you go through this alone." [02:31] babys breath liz: And as he was holding her, everything started to seem like it would be okay. it would hurt for awhile, but she was strong. She'd been through so much. Her rape, everything with Ric, Cam and Jake...she had to be strong, and he helped her to do that. The words were out of her mouth before she could stop herself. "I love you.." [02:36] stoic jason: Kissing the top of her head, his fingers threaded through her long locks as he clutched her against his chest. He'd stand there all night with her if he had to; it was just the type of affinity he held for Elizabeth. Breathing in the scent of her shampoo, her words surprised him in a way. Not that he didn't think she didn't love him, he had a feeling she did because he knew he had feelings for her as well, but he hadn't expected it so soon. Murmuring quietly against her forehead, he returned her sentiment, "... I love you too." [02:43] babys breath liz: Truthfully, she hadn't expected to say it so soon, but that did not mean that she didn't mean it with all of her heart. They had a son together, and they shared a special connection that most of these people could never understand. And now...if they wanted, they had a real chance to be a family. It would be hard, and dangerous but she could do it. She was confident Jason would keep her and her children safe. He'd saved her life so many times before. Her head was filled with all sorts of thoughts and emotions but it all came back to him. Finally she wasn't so shaky anymore. "We should...check on Cam." She suggested.
